Frequently asked questions about the Climate Risk Analysis Webinar

How do you estimate when a climate risk has been sufficiently reduced?

When assessing climate risks, both a company's adaptation potential and adaptation capacity are analyzed. Quantitative statements are often only partially possible, so qualitative, concrete, and site-specific information is crucial. Based on this, you can determine what financial resources the company can provide to adapt effectively to climate risks, with the goal of limiting potential damages to a non-existential level.

Can risks be quantified with the Climate Risk Analysis Tool, and which sources are relevant?

Yes. We recommend defining scale values for assessment in numbers, for example by assigning specific amounts like €20,000, €50,000, or €100,000 to the categories "low," "medium," and "high." Apply these definitions consistently across all areas to ensure comparability and transparency.

Does the tool consider the recommendations of IFRS S1 and S2?

Yes, the tool considers these recommendations. It is essentially based on the guidance of the Federal Environment Agency, which is aligned with the EU Taxonomy.
